What to Send After “Welcome”
Use these prompts and templates to write emails that connect and convert.

When someone joins your email list, they show initial interest in your business.
That's your moment to make a great first impression.
A thoughtfully created welcome sequence helps build trust, establish your expertise, and makes new subscribers feel valued from day one.
No doubt you’ve heard this before and you’ll hear it again. Yet, many solo business owners overlook the importance and stop their welcome campaign at one email.
In my recent poll on what readers are looking for, one of the top responses was more ideas for marketing campaigns.
Since email marketing is the top way to attract, connect with, and retain clients, I’m starting with the basics…
Email marketing campaigns.
First up is the Welcome sequence.
"A welcome email generates 320% more revenue than a promotional email by including exclusive offers that drive immediate purchases." — Greg Zakowicz
Here's how to create your own powerful welcome email series, plus clear, easy-to-use AI prompts to speed up the process.
Why You Need a Welcome Sequence
A welcome sequence is more than a polite "hello." It sets expectations, starts conversations, and nurtures subscribers so they're ready to engage with your business.
Subscribers who receive welcome emails are more likely to open future emails and become paying clients.
Here’s what you want your welcome sequence to accomplish:
Deliver immediate value (your lead magnet or free resource)
Establish trust and credibility
Start building a genuine relationship
Invite engagement and responses

When to Send Each Email (Simple Schedule)
Email 1: Immediately upon subscribing (this is often referred to as Day 0)
Email 2: 2-3 days after Email 1
Email 3: 3-4 days after Email 2
This timing keeps you top-of-mind without overwhelming subscribers. You can also experiment with timing.
I often send Email 1 and Email 2 on consecutive days and then wait two days to send Email 3.
Email Campaigns that Benefit from a Welcome Sequence:

Lead Magnet Downloads: Deliver your free resources and immediately show value.

Service-Based Businesses: Quickly establish credibility, showcase your personality, and build trust.
